Hawthorne Hill - Carillon Park - Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park

Great urban tour of the brother's local history.

Dayton was the home of the Wright family. It is here that Orville and Wilbur invented and perfected the airplane. It is here that they really learned to fly. They took their show on the road to North Carolina because it was windy and they had soft sand for crashing on. Ohio is "the birthplace of Aviation," and Dayton is where it happened.

The Wright Brothers Historical Tours will visit the brothers’ Dayton legacy. In 25-miles (or 15-miles) we will visit the site of the Wrights' boyhood home, their mansion built after they made it big, an aircraft factory site, one of their bike shops (part of a national park), their final resting place, and many other interesting sites. There will be a guide along who will give you the cook's tour and make sure you don’t get lost. We ride in 2 or 3 groups of 40 -50 riders. Though this will not be a fast-paced ride, it is hard. The route is HILLY and in an urban environment. Join us on an on in a lifetime educational jaunt on the vehicle that opened the door to flight, the bicycle!

The historical tour is a budget tour, we will supply maps, group guide, SAG, water and a snack during the ride. All other expenses are your responsibility.
